The White Death Approaches!

Cincinnati is in a Panic! 24 hour weather coverage has ensued, first snowflake spotted over Western Hills 20 minutes ago, schools canceling as we speak!

This moment of hyperbole brought to you by our sponsors.
(Couldn't resist)

You sound as bad as Seattlites. Are Cincinattians really as wimpy as all that?

Sadly, yes

Wow. Y'all would HATE Minnesota. Subzero temps, frozen rain STILL coating the roads, salt and sand don't work....and we're getting more snow to dust the ice....now it's going to be REALLY bad.

But I will say this; given all the hills in Cinci, well, I thank God I don't have to drive there in the winter!

Reminds me of living in Columbus, GA. One flake seen & EVERYTHING shuts down, literally! Of course, coming from the snowbelt, we laughed at our "snow day" and wondered what they would think with the "snow days" in the snow belt! LOL

But Cinci can not consider itself part of the South! It's ABOVE the Mason-Dixon line. Sorry, charlie! LOL

I can remember my days at College of Mt St Joseph, us Clevelanders would watch in amazement as everything shut down at the first sign of snow!!
Guess nothing has changed!
Still gotta love Cinci!

You know, father, it's all Jamie's (Jamie's perfect 10, now 11)fault--she asked for the "white stuff."

We predict these storms days in advance, and more often than not the city does nothing. The reason other geographies handle snow and ice better is that they salt the roads in advance and have the plows on idle. Cincinnatians can count on that sort of attentiveness about every third storm. Left untreated, 1-3" of snow and a thin layer of ice can wreak havoc.

Actually, it's Father's fault. He emailed me that he was jealous we had snow in MN. He's been PRAYING for snow!

Now, having seen Cinci, here's my idea of fun: Let it snow, a bunch. Then send a groomer down the main roads from the biggest peaks on your seven hills, and mark the edges like they do in USSA Dowhnills. I'd LOVE to click into a set of skis and hit those bad boys in Cinci at top speed!

I think even Rossi couldn't design a better Downhill than some of those roads!

Oh...I so need to go skiing in the next couple weeks...maybe Saturday if I can get my shopping done...

Seeing as how we're approaching
40" in one week I don't have a ton of sympathy for Cinci.... LOL

One of my husbands students who is an athiest, just got hopelessly stuck in our driveway. Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor. Oh yes - the twit locked his keys in the truck, too....

Merry Christmas to you, Father
