Rich Leonardi cites a National Catholic Register article about the increase in vocations to the priesthood in English speaking seminaries. The article mentions Bishop Robert Carlson, who is the new bishop of Saginaw, Michigan, whom I had a chance to meet at the recent national convention for diocescan vocation directors in Minneapolis.
In reading the article, that men are attracted by living a life for the Gospel, and not some watered down, half-baked truth, that is why we spent so much time researching our new website for the Vocation Office and trying to make it content heavy. Unfortunately, people cannot play nice. All the posts on this thread are deleted and posts are now moderated to keep the personal attacks away. Who I chose to link to on my own personal blog is my business. I find Rich's blog to be informative and well written. While he is critical of things that do happen in this Archdiocese, he never crosses the line to an ad hominium attack. I have a great love for our Archbishop, and respect the man deeply for his leadership and pastoral sensibilities and will not tolerate the personal attack on him.
