I'm still alive!

Made it through the weekend, barely.

Today is a few meetings at the seminary, spiritual direction and taxes.

After all the excitement from the weekend, I needed a light day.

Glad you're still with us, Father!

I wish I could have spiritual direction. Lucky!

Now...go take a nap or something after you get your taxes done.

I'd like to get in line for the spiritual direction, right behind adoro...

But taxes??? Priests have to do taxes???

Michael,

Priests get hammered on taxes. We are considered 'sole proprietors' by the IRS, so we get to pay double income tax. No refund for me :(

Bummer!!!I just mailed our stupid taxes today.
I, too, am envious of those with a spiritual director. I keep praying to the dear Lord to send me one, but it hasn't happened.
Hope your day has gone well, Father.

any day that involves taxes cannot be considered a "light day"!

is that double taxation or priests similar to taxing the rich more?

Well, I just hope you don't listen to the radio when doing your taxes, or en route to have someone do them for you.

I made that mistake. A few weeks ago when I got mine done, I left work early to get to the appointment on time and with all my documents. En route, first I heard, "I BELIEVE THE WORLD IS BURNING TO THE GROUND, OH WELL, I GUESS WE'RE GONNA FIND OUT...I BELIEVE THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END, LET'S SEE HOW FAR WE'VE COME..." ACK!

So I switched the station, and heard, "IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!" joyfully blasting through my speakers.

So I turned my radio off and considered just going home and hiding instead of getting my taxes done. It turned out OK....but I do think my tax refund is coming to an end....
