"I am priest and I am not lonely!"

Is being a priest lonely? Absolutely NOT! I crave the times I can be alone, in the silence, no radio, no TV, just sitting before Christ.

Fr. Ed in Cleveland writes a great piece on the percieved loneliness of the priesthood versus what it is really like.

I read that post this morning, too, was going to link to it. Might still later.

I've heard those comments from people, too, but he refutes them so well and so logically! :-)

Our pastor is the only priest in residence and sometimes jokingly calls the rectory "the mansion". But he says as you do that he craves silent periods. When he is driving from place to place he doesn't even turn the radio on anymore just to have some silence!
